Joan Tehrani is a Level 3 YMCA qualified personal trainer who specialises in functional training based around core strength and stability. She assists clients in achieving weight loss, pre- and post-natal health, postural correction, strength and endurance improvement, body sculpting and definition.
Joan encourages her clients to engage in a process of becoming fitter, stronger and healthier physically and in turn mentally, resulting in a lifestyle change indefinitely. This, Joan believes, will increase longevity and positivity in each client's life.
Combining her busy schedule with being a mum, Joan is fully aware of how demanding life can be, but also how important it is that a healthy body is a healthy mind.
Spending most of her life in Cape Town, Joan has always been a keen sportswoman, competing and participating in various disciplines, with swimming and cycling as her main pursuits. Joan has spent many years training in gyms across South Africa and continues to train under the guidance of Highgate Fitness Studios Head Coach, Leon Baillie.
Joan has developed her own style, which she tailors to meet each client's individual needs. She uses a wide variety of training methods to keep each workout challenging amd interesting, including plyometrics, Tabata training, body resistance and resistance band work. Joan also provides sports specific training to those training for a variety of goals or events. Joan has worked both with athletes with specific goals, and those who would just like to improve their overall fitness.
Joan's sessions and classes are always fun and interesting with each session providing a new challenge.
